For longer than the Aylesbury Club has been in existence, the town has been famous for the breeding of the Aylesbury duck. Prominent among the many duck breeders was John Weston (1770 - 1825). From the family lineage shown below it is proof positive that the Weston family where instrumental in the continued breeding of the Aylesbury duck for over two hundred years. Sadly, because of the increasing costs of farming the ducks and the decline in their demand, breeding of ducks in Aylesbury no longer exists. However, Aylesbury ducks are still being bred by Richard Waller in nearby Chesham (www.duckfarm.co.uk).
